Pandas are only worth seeing before 10 a.m., when they eat and play; after that they sleep. So we are at the gate at 7:30, do the nursery first, and are on the road to Leshan by 10:30 for the 71-metre Buddha carved into the cliff, seen from the river boat and then from the stairs.

Yes, the 4-hour panda-only version is on my profile. Or swap Leshan for Dujiangyan's irrigation system and the pandas at the quieter Dujiangyan base.
